Hudson is one of the cheapest places in Tampa Bay to buy a click, and Google Ads management in Hudson should be priced to match. It's a west Pasco community on US-19 north of New Port Richey and south of Spring Hill, about 13,000 people in Hudson proper and a lot more in the surrounding ZIPs of Bayonet Point, Hudson Beach, and the unincorporated area stretching east toward the Suncoast Parkway. Homes are older and modestly priced, the population skews retired, and the competition for search traffic is thinner than anywhere south of it on US-19.
The Hudson customer
Mostly retirees and working families in 1970s and 80s housing, with a significant share in mobile home communities and canal-front neighborhoods near Hudson Beach and Sea Pines. Bayonet Point brings a medical cluster (the hospital and the physician offices around it), which is where much of the professional-services search demand comes from. There's also a long-standing waterfront and fishing culture that generates niche demand for dock, seawall, and boat work.
These customers call. They don't fill out forms much, and they search during the day on desktops as often as on phones. That should push your ad schedule and your call-extension strategy in a specific direction: make the phone number prominent, make sure a human answers between 8 am and 5 pm, and don't bother bidding up at 9 pm.
Targeting the US-19 strip
US-19 is the whole geography. Hudson residents will drive 15 minutes north to Spring Hill or south to New Port Richey. They will not cross into Hernando's inland areas or over to Land O' Lakes. Set up:
- Core: 34667 (Hudson) and 34669 (the eastern side toward the Parkway).
- South: 34668 (Port Richey) and 34652, 34653 (New Port Richey). The market changes gradually as you go south; Google Ads Management in New Port Richey: What It Should Cost covers where it lands.
- North: 34606, 34607, 34608, 34609 (Spring Hill). More volume, similar customer, somewhat higher competition. See Google Ads Management in Spring Hill: What It Should Cost.
A 10-mile radius from the US-19 and SR-52 intersection is a fair backstop, but ZIPs will serve you better because the coast makes the circle lopsided.
Click costs and what to budget
Hudson home-service clicks generally run $6 to $18. Even AC and roofing rarely push past $25. Medical and dental around Bayonet Point are moderate, $10 to $30. This is a low-price, low-volume market, which means the right budget is small: $700 to $2,000 a month for most single-service businesses. Spending more mostly buys Spring Hill and New Port Richey clicks, which is fine if that's your plan.
The lower cost per click doesn't automatically mean a lower cost per lead. Older customers click more cautiously, and a bad landing page kills conversion here as surely as anywhere. But when it works, cost per lead for something like AC repair or plumbing can be very reasonable, often $30 to $80.
Seasonality on the coast
Hudson has two seasonal stories. The first is snowbirds: November through April, the mobile home parks and condo communities fill, and demand rises for handyman, cleaning, pest control, AC maintenance, medical, and mobility work. The second is hurricane season. Hudson Beach and the canal neighborhoods are low and flood-prone; recent storm seasons hit this stretch of coast hard. From June onward, shutters, generators, tree trimming, and elevation-related searches climb, and after any storm the flood cleanup, roofing, and drywall demand is immediate and large.
A manager should have storm ad groups ready in May and a plan for what to do when the phone rings 200 times in a day.
A fair fee, honestly
On a $1,000 to $2,000 monthly ad budget, a fair management fee is $350 to $700 a month. Anything above that is hard to justify unless it includes the website and tracking. What you should get for it: ZIP targeting, a snowbird plan, a storm plan, a negative keyword list (Hudson, New York and Hudson, Ohio will show up), call tracking, and a monthly check-in that takes ten minutes.
Small budgets make bundled plans more attractive because the fee covers the site too. How Arbor runs your ads is built that way. Whatever you choose, don't accept a fee that's half your spend.
